January 19, 2010
To all clergy, pastoral teams and other employees of the Diocese of London,
I would like to thank all of you for implementing Phase 1 of our Pandemic Plan over
the past few months. Based on the latest information from our parishes, medical
professionals and local health units, parishes may go back to Phase 0 of our Pandemic
Plan, effective at all Masses beginning the weekend of January 23-24, 2010.
Phase 0 Summary
• No restrictions in liturgical practices required
• Parishes should promote health and safety best practices
I would also like to thanks the professionals who volunteered to be part of our
pandemic planning team, including our diocesan director of personnel, parish nurses,
liturgical experts and representatives from our local Health Unit. They all have contributed
their wealth of expertise and knowledge to create our plan. They have continued, and will
continue, to monitor the H1N1 virus situation very closely.
Please note we are announcing this rollback of restrictions on the Diocese of London
website (www.rcec.london.on.ca) as well as through the news media. Please review the
attached summary of our Pandemic Plan phases and consider posting it in visible places.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Rev. Ronald P. Fabbro, C.S.B.
Bishop of London
