Monday 15 August 2011

The whole crew at Don Benito worked wonders to make us feel at home in their city.  From daily bilingual masses to acrazy tour of the town we have been welcomed with open hearts and homes.

We are really getting into the rythmn of having a nap in the afternoon but I don't think I can ever eat as much as they feed us.  I secretly think they have a competition on how much weight they can make each one of us gain.

On Saturday night we had a beautiful pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Three Crosses outside town.  We had adoration until 1:30 am and then a dance until 4:00 am.  My great ability to sleep through anything came in handy.

Sunday we celebrated the Vigil of the Assumption of Mary.  It is a national holiday here.  Parties are planned everywhere.

On Monday we are assumed into the chaos of World Youth Day.  Leaving Don Benito it will be nice to know that there is a quiet spot in Spain that welcomes with joy.
